Extended Detection Accuracy with AXIS Object Analytics

ARTPEC-9 brings a new level of intelligent AI-based analytics with enhanced performance that extends the camera’s detection range. This means smaller objects can be identified from greater distances and provide earlier alerts, delivering valuable insights for security, safety, and operational needs. Key improvements include greater accuracy and the ability to distinguish and define a wider variety of object classes such as persons, cars, buses, trucks and bikes with more granular and precise object classification.

Uncompromising Image Quality

The new ARTPEC-9 SoC takes AXIS’ advanced image processing to the next level, including the powerful Lightfinder 2.0 and Forensic WDR. These form the backbone of Axis Scene Intelligence technology, which steps up AXIS Object Analytics performance to deliver noticeable improvements, no matter the lighting. This means more accurate detections, less false alarms, and leads to faster response to incidents that really matter.

Introducing AV1 Video Encoding

Discover high-quality video with uncompromised detail and ultra-low bitrate thanks to AV1, an open-source modern video encoding standard from the Alliance for Open Media (AOM). With many advantages over existing encoding standards, AV1 enhances the development of ultra-high-resolution products, offering high-quality video at low bitrates, efficient network transmission, and reduced storage costs without sacrificing detail.

Every AXIS product built on ARTPEC-9 supports AV1, ensuring hassle-free video both on-prem and in the cloud, enabling widespread decoding in browsers, operating systems and mobile devices. With solid support in all main cloud frameworks, AV1 is ideal for cloud-based applications. AXIS has therefore been able to bridge the gap between applications allowing features such as remote video access to be brought to market faster. AV1 is currently supported by AXIS Camera Station including AXIS Camera Station Cloud Storage, with developments underway to integrate with the Milestone XProtect video management system as part of their 2025 R3 update.
