Bosch is renowned in the world of IP CCTV for its background in engineering and the ability to create innovative products.
They’re a manufacturer that prefers to launch new technology only when they’ve been able to maximise its full potential, so when we heard they were introducing edge-based video analytics in their cameras, we wanted to know more.
There are two types of Bosch video analytics – Essential Video Analytics and Intelligent Video Analytics. You could think of these as “Standard” and “Advanced” but it’s fair to say that even the “Standard” version is feature-rich with a varied choice of intrusion, object, direction and behaviour related motion detection rules including people counting and crowd detection.
The video analytics will be available in mid and high-range cameras (4000 series and above) at no extra cost. Cameras in the 4000, 5000 and yet to be launched 6000 series will feature Essential Video Analytics. Cameras in the 7000, 8000 and 9000 series will feature Intelligent Video Analytics (commonly referred to by Bosch as IVA).
Bosch has rolled out the analytics in the US already we’re now seeing the first 8000 series units available in the UK. Other series will follow – the schedule is expected to be:
We’ll keep you posted on progress of this roll out and take a closer look at the video analytics features soon. It will be interesting to see if the analytics meet the high standards we’ve come to associate with Bosch – if they do, they represent a huge value-add for their camera range.
I am a technician working in Italy and will like to find out When is Bosch training schedule for 2017? Thank you.
