The Axis Q6045 series Mark II is here – what’s new?

Axis Q6045 Mark II modelsNow available from Axis are the recently launched, improved ‘Mark II’ versions of the indoor Q6045, the outdoor Q6045-E, the Q6045-C outdoor with active cooling and the stainless steel, pressurised Q6045-S marine-grade model,  all featuring high-speed pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) functionality but providing even more features and capabilities than before at no additional cost. So what’s new?

Following the success of the MK I models, the Axis Q6045 series Mark II IP cameras have seen the following improvements in the recent upgrade:

Increased zoom capabilities

The previous Q6045 models featured 20x optical zoom but this has now increased to 32x, enabling even further high quality identification from a distance and making the cameras suitable for a wider range of applications. The increased optical zoom combined with 12x digital zoom takes the overall zoom capabilities of the Q6045 Mark II cameras to 384x, up from 240x combined zoom in its predecessor.

Upgraded imaging performance

The image sensor has been upgraded from a 1/3” to 1/2.8” CMOS sensor and the maximum frame rate has been increased to capturing 60 frames per second (at HD 720p) instead of the previous 30 fps, making the Mark II models suitable for high-movement applications such as casinos, banks, prisons and traffic monitoring. Full HD 1080p is still available as featured on the previous Q6045 models and users can choose between capture modes to best suit the application.

Improved light sensitivity

The Mark II Q6045 cameras can ‘see’ more in less light. Minimum illumination needed has reduced to 0.3 lux in colour from 0.6 lux (at 30 IRE F1.6) and to just 0.04 lux in black and white (mono) from 0.03 lux (at 30 IRE F1.6) previously, providing better quality low light video capture all-round.

Automatic defog feature

Further advancements to the Mark II Q6045 IP camera series is the Automatic Defog Feature, automatically detecting fog, smoke or haze in a scene and digitally filtering it out to improve visibility and provide clearer video. This feature is ideal for applications where haze can cause visibility problems for CCTV, such as chemical and manufacturing plants, factories, road monitoring and football stadia.

The new Axis Q6045 Mark II network cameras are top-of-the range, offering an advanced feature set and optimum image performance for the most demanding of applications. All Mark II Q6045 versions are now in stock and available to order immediately.
