SecuritySpy v2.0 Released, Live CCTV Monitoring and Recording for Mac

The developers of SecuritySpy IP camera recording software for Mac are now shipping version 2.0.

SecuritySpy 2.0 has new features and improvements, including a significant speed increase over the previous release. In fact, due to these performance enhancements Ben Software have launched a 16 camera license for v2.0 of their software, which we will be selling at an affordable price as always.

New features and Enhancements

  • Significantly faster video display using OpenGL graphics acceleration
  • Improved performance for remote viewing using the enhanced Java applet viewer
  • Improved threading gives advantages to multi-processor computers
  • Support for audio recording from Axis network cameras and video servers and Panasonic IP cameras
  • Audio levels are now shown in the camera status window
  • Play live audio from one or more cameras
  • Support for network audio streaming from one computer running SecuritySpy to another
  • Support for audio streaming to the Java applet in a web browser
  • New screen capturing features included with the Screen Capture Pack (free add-on)
  • Automatic camera discovery using the Bonjour protocol with additional Bonjour settings in the built-in web server
  • Images can now be printed directly from the camera’s contextual menus
  • Improved efficiency for MJPEG and MPEG-4 compression, email and FTP transfer, disk writing and PTZ operation

…plus support for a host of new camera models and manufacturers including the latest Arecont Vision cameras AV8180/AV8360, Axis Q1755, Panasonic WV-NW964 and also new ranges such as Vivotek.


If you have purchased SecuritySpy v1.x on or after 1 Jan 2009 then you will be entitled to this upgrade free of charge.

Those of you who purchased SecuritySpy before 1 Jan 2009 should contact your dealer for a upgrade price. Upgrades will work as follows:

SecuritySpy V1.x 1-camera licence > SecuritySpy v2.0 1-camera license
SecuritySpy V1.x 4-camera licence > SecuritySpy v2.0 4-camera license
SecuritySpy V1.x 8-camera licence > SecuritySpy v2.0 8-camera license
