The lightweight and cost-efficient Axis Q1961-XTE is the world's first thermometic camera specifically engineered and certified for use in Zone 2 / Division 2 hazardous areas exposed to flammable vapors or prone to risk of explosions such as factory floors, power plants, chemical processing plants, distilleries, bottling plants, grain silos and terminals, and assembly lines. The IP66/67 and IK10-rated vandal-resistant casing means the unit can be installed indoors or outdoors, capable of exposure to wet weather conditions. Installations for the monitoring of heavy machinery can rely on smart temperature monitoring to accurately detect fluctuations and overheating, in addition to gathering statistical insights to identify trends to aid predictive maintenance and prevent unwanted downtime. Advanced analytics can recognise and alert users to early signs of fires developing, offering essential safeguarding of your business delivered by the powerful deep-learning capabilities of the ARTPEC-8 chipset from Axis. Moreover, resilient hardware cybersecurity features by Axis Edge Vault protect the device and keeps your sensitive data secure from compromise by internal and external threats, making it suitable for use in Enterprise networks.

Imaging and Optics
Featuring a 7mm athermalised lens providing a 55° viewing field, the camera offers wide area coverage with the uncooled microbolometer sensor delivering 384x288 thermal resolution in a choice of 8.3 or 30 frames per second, suitable for different applications depending on the level of movement in the scene. Capable of measuring between -40°C and 350°C, the Axis Q1961-XTE can read the exact temperature of equipment in view with accurate spot reading, whilst up to 10 configurable polygonal detection zones can be set to independently measure specific portions of the viewing field. If the camera is installed in areas prone to vibrations such as near machinery or exposed to harsh weather conditions, Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS) will ensure a smooth feed to prevent inconsistencies when gathering data.
Video Analytics
This Zone 2 ATEX-certified camera is built on the advanced ARTPEC-8 chipset from Axis which offers powerful deep-learning capabilities, delivering powerful, intelligent video analytics. Configure polygonal detection areas on screen through your video management software and the camera can accurately and consistently measure independent temperature zones, which can initiate an alert when the temperature drops below or above a preset threshold, allowing flexibility for a variety of applications. Early fire detection analytics are preinstalled on the unit which detects gradual temperature changes, with the AI-driven algorithm identifying patterns which may indicate signs of a fire developing. Increase efficiency of responses to incidents through alarm integration via edge-to-edge technology enabling network speaker pairing for audible alarms to alert users. However, not all events are worthy of a notification, and the smart-filtering function disregards uninteresting objects such as warm exhausts of passing vehicles, minimising false alarms.
Recording and Video Management
Gather statistical data to develop and form greater insights with a higher degree of accuracy thanks to the powerful recording and processing capabilities of this cost-efficient and lightweight camera.
