Providing accurate remote temperature identification, early fire detection and a choice of lenses, this camera is designed to improve operational efficiency in manufacturing or industrial applications.
The advanced Q1961-TE thermal imaging camera is part of Axis’ powerful Q19 series and offers thermal resolutions of 384 x 288 that can be scaled up to 768 x 576. Outdoor-ready and able to detect temperatures between -40°C and 350°C this camera can monitor specific temperature levels and change rates remotely, notifying users when temperatures pass a certain threshold, even when operators are not onsite. Ideally situated in industrial sites or manufacturing warehouses, the unit can be used to monitor equipment prone to overheating. Early fire detection is also preinstalled, allowing users to set triggers to notify them of potential overheating or signs of fire.
The Axis Q1961-TE comes fitted with a choice of a 7mm or 13mm fixed focal lens offering 28° or 55° horizontal views and each lens is available with a choice of 8.3 or 30 frames per second. Based on Axis’ latest ARTPEC-8 chipset, this camera features a deep learning processing unit (DLPU) enabling more nuanced and accurate analytic detection for more proactive scene awareness. Smart polygonal temperature monitoring allows only selected areas to be monitored, disregarding potential false triggers such as vehicle exhausts – creating more accurate notifications. Spot temperature monitoring and temperature statistics allow users to monitor the exact temperature of an area with one click, and metadata allows them to identify temperature patterns. Furthermore, the unit is protected from data breaches and unauthorised access with a handful of built-in cybersecurity features including Axis Edge Vault, Secure boot and signed firmware.
To provide reliable monitoring, even when conditions are challenging, the Q1961-TE features a range of imaging technologies. Electronic image stabilisation (EIS) can be used to minimise blurring and produce clear footage when the camera is subject to movement – ideal when attached to a pole or situated in an area prone to high winds. When monitoring narrow areas, Corridor Format can be activated. This useful feature rotates the video stream by 90°, minimising the capture of redundant areas and optimising bandwidth usage.
Email notifications and alarms can be triggered when motion is detected by the camera, ensuring that no activity is missed, even when the camera is not being directly monitored. Axis’ smart Motion Guard provides accurate edge-based motion detection that allows areas to be predefined and analyses movement to filter out background motion for fewer false alarms. Axis Fence Guard and Loitering Guard are also included for reliable line-crossing and loitering detection in low-traffic areas. Moreover, support for audio via edge-to-edge and I/O connection enables external speakers and microphones (not included) to be connected, providing audio detection capabilities and the enhancement of alarm signalling for greater scene awareness.
Axis Companion Application can be installed to provide free basic video management for up to 16 cameras, as well as remote access to both live video streams and footage recorded to the onboard SD card (not included). This camera can be added to a new or existing Axis Camera Station or Milestone XProtect system – ideal for larger installations that require more advanced video management.
To make installation straightforward, the Q1961-TE comes with wall and ceiling mounting accessories and receives both power and network connection through a single cable with Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) support, reducing the time and equipment needed to integrate the camera. Encased in IP66 and IK10-rated housing, this robust unit is protected from inclement weather and vandalism attempts – making it suitable for outdoor use. Furthermore, bandwidth is reduced by an average of 50% using Axis’ Zipstream technology – lowering costs associated with storage capacity without compromising important forensic detail.
Please note: there is no power supply included with this unit. It is power over ethernet capable.
With thermal imaging, remote temperature detection, a choice of lens sizes and deep learning analytics, the Q1961-TE is an advanced camera suitable for areas that require consistent monitoring of temperatures such as waste management sites, industrial sites, warehouses and production lines. Thermal cameras are also suitable for perimeter detection due to their high contrast imaging and the Q1961-TE includes additional analytics which provide rapid detection of threats.
