Vandal-resistant and able to blend into almost any interior, the compact Axis M4216-LV is equipped with advanced analytics that deliver reliable object detection, as well as detailed forensic search in both live and recorded video. This versatile model delivers 4MP resolution video and features Axis Edge Vault to safeguard the camera against unauthorised access and security threats. Designed for discreet, yet intelligent monitoring of indoor areas, this camera is best suited for use in retail and hospitality settings, as well as in waiting and reception areas.

Imaging and Optics

Thanks to its automatic IR-cut filter, the unit delivers detailed 24-hour video in 4MP resolution at up to 30 frames per second. Equipped with a varifocal lens that offers horizontal views of 45° - 100° and vertical views between 34° and 72°, you are able to set your required viewing angle at installation. To ensure optimum video quality in a range of lighting conditions, this camera includes OptimisedIR illumination that reaches up to 20m, Lightfinder, which supports the capture of full-colour footage in light levels as low as 0.18 lux, and WDR that captures high contrast scenes clearly - ensuring individuals and objects are visible, whatever the light levels. Moreover, privacy masking conceals areas and individuals in the camera’s view that are not relevant or permitted to be recorded.

Video Analytics

Advanced, deep-learning analytics come pre-installed, including Axis’ highly reliable Object Analytics. Detecting the presence and behaviour of people using spatial analysis, this intelligent application reduces false alarms by focusing on exactly what you want to detect, when and where you want to detect it. With up to 10 different configurable scenarios, you can tailor the detection and what events you are most interested in, whether you want to prevent intrusion or track the dwell time of individuals.

Axis applications and third-party applications are available to enhance the camera’s functionality for a more bespoke monitoring solution.

Recording and Video Management

Installation and Mounting Options

Installation aids such as remote zoom and focus allow users to set up the required viewing angle without having physical access to the camera – ideal for when a camera is installed in a less accessible area. The casing is repaintable to match any installation area creating a non-invasive surveillance solution. Power and network connectivity are received through one cable using PoE, the HDMI output enables connection to a local monitor to view or display a live feed of surveillance footage and two-way audio can be integrated through support for I/O and T61 connections (microphone and speaker not included), enabling communication within the camera’s vicinity. Furthermore, IP42 and IK08-rated casing offers water, dust and impact protection.

This unit can be wall or ceiling mounted out of the box, but if a different mounting method is required, a range of optional accessories are available, including:
