Overview of the Axis F44 dual audio input main unit

Flexible and rugged Axis F44 main unit from the Axis F series, for use with up to four Axis F series sensor modules. Features include full HD 720p or 1080p (15 fps), Corridor Format, two-way audio, dual SD card recording, intelligent video and PoE. Comes with support for Axis Companion 16-channel software and remote access via smartphones and tablets.

Part of the Axis F series, the F44 main unit enables up to four of the Axis series F sensor modules to be connected to provide flexible and cost-effective surveillance ideal for compact areas such as ATMs and in transport such as emergency vehicles. Suitable for indoor or sheltered outdoor use, the rugged Axis F44 main unit can be placed up to 12m away from the sensor modules, enabling monitoring of multiple areas simultaneously. The 4 sensors eliminate the need for multiple network cameras, therefore reducing installation and maintenance costs.

The Axis F44 unit supports two capture modes that users can select depending on the application. 1080p capture mode streams 4 separate 1080p streams up to 12.5 fps and provides full viewing angle, whilst HD 720p capture mode streams at full frame rate with a horizontal viewing angle 35% to 42% less. Users can view 4 video streams from the connected sensor units simultaneously using the quad view feature.

Wide Dynamic Range - Forensic Capture is supported and helps to retain details of the image in high contrast scenes. It ensures that all details in scenes with bright and dark areas can be viewed clearly, helpful for identification in entrance ways where the subject may appear dark against a bright background.

The unit supports two-way audio, as well as two microphones when using the included Axis stereo-to-mono adapter - enabling verbal conversation and audio capture to complement video footage. Audio detection in addition to active tampering alarm and intelligent video motion detection alerts operators to activity and potential vandalism, triggering recording to two SD cards (card not included) and playing a pre-recorded audio clip amongst other available actions. The F44 supports 4 input/output ports that are configurable and can be used to connect devices to enhance alarm management such as a PIR sensor. Dual edge storage capability provides low-cost, decentralised storage onto 2 SD cards, independent of the network and therefore unaffected by any network connection problems.

The F44 main unit supports Axis' Companion software for up to 16 cameras, whilst users can access the camera remotely using the Axis Companion mobile app for iOS and Android smartphones.
