Axis Audio Spectrum Visualiser is a free application that is compatible with a range of Axis IP cameras and can be used with Video Management Software (VMS) to provide an adaptive audio event detection solution. The app displays an audio spectrum as an overlay in the video stream – helping to improve scene awareness by alerting users to significant changes in the sound environment.

Application

This smart app helps operators to detect and determine audio activity when they are monitoring multiple scenes simultaneously. By providing users with a visual representation of significant changes in sound levels, the application can help to enhance scene awareness and improve operational efficiency. Axis Audio Spectrum Visualiser offers users the ability to respond quickly to detected noise. This can be particularly useful in environments such as hotel lobbies to help improve customer experience by keeping external noise caused by alerts to a minimum; or in hospitals and care homes to help improve patient care.

Functionality

Installed on an Axis network camera, the app can display an overlay of an audio spectrum onto live and recorded video. Each bar in the spectrum corresponds to a frequency band and the volume of the sound is indicated visually through easily understandable colour coding.

Integration

The associated Axis IP camera must have at least one audio input with either an integrated or external microphone connected in order to run the application. Additionally, as it can be used with a wide range of popular VMS, users can easily integrate the app with their existing systems.

Please note: this application consumes camera processing power which may impact performance if several streams are run simultaneously. A single Audio Spectrum Visualiser licence is required per camera.
