Hanwha Vision (Wisenet) | XND-8020R
The reasonably priced dome IP camera from Hanwha Vision records high-quality video in 5-megapixel resolution, achieving up to 25 frames per second (fps). Its genuine day/night functionality is extended to a distance of 20m through the camera's built-in infrared (IR) LEDs, ensuring clear details even in challenging lighting situations due to the incorporation of Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) and digital noise reduction technologies. Additional practical features encompass onboard MicroSD storage (card not provided) and straightforward installation facilitated by Power over Ethernet (PoE) support.
A 4mm fixed lens offers a wide viewing angle of 80°, allowing surveillance of large, open-plan indoor spaces 24 hours a day. In addition, the unit’s built-in IR LED illumination provides monochrome night vision at a range of up to 20m.
The wide dynamic range (WDR) technology employed by the camera enhances the quality of images captured in difficult lighting situations by addressing both intense light and deep shadows. This compensation ensures that individuals and objects remain distinctly visible, even in instances of strong backlighting. Digital noise reduction further refines image quality in low-light conditions, while Wisenet's Hallway view optimizes the monitoring of narrow scenes by vertically orienting the video stream.
Configurable on-camera video motion detection and tampering detection and alarms help to alert operators of activity via a choice of notification methods, including email. External devices can also be connected through the camera’s integrated I/O ports to enhance alarm signalling.
Data can be stored directly to a MicroSD card (not included), serving as a data backup if the network connection is interrupted and operators can remotely access the camera wither with the free Wisenet Viewer application, or any supporting VMS such as video management software Wisenet WAVE and Milestone XProtect.
Support for PoE simplifies installation – providing both power and network connectivity over a single cable and cutting initial costs.
The Hanwha Vision QND-8020R presents a cost-effective option for small businesses seeking comprehensive, 24/7 surveillance of open indoor areas. Its suitability extends to various applications, including restaurants, newsagents, and compact stock rooms.
