The BL-VT164 is a compact, feature-rich Panasonic IP camera suited to small business and home surveillance systems. The camera features motorised pan and tilt controlled through the web interface, allowing viewers to move the view remotely, while the HD 720p resolution video produced captures high levels of image detail.

When light levels drop, the camera's Electronic day/night feature improves footage by switching to monochrome video, increasing light sensitivity. 3D noise reduction also lowers image noise resulting in sharper, clearer video. Movement can be detected in complete darkness through the built-in bodyheat sensor which tracks heat sources around the camera and can trigger events such as email notification or image transfer.

Panasonic's Face Detection system is installed, integrating with compatible Network Video Recorders to identify faces in the view. The integrated mobile client also lets viewers monitor camera footage using a web-enabled smartphone for surveillance on the move.
