Overview of the Axis Q6128-E

This versatile PTZ network camera by Axis delivers high performance, 4K UltraHD resolution at 25 frames per second (fps). Part of the Q61 Sharpdome series, this advanced model has full pan/tilt/zoom functionality and 12x optical zoom for in depth investigation. The unit’s IK08 and IP66 rated housing, combined with support for true day/night recording, enables round-the-clock monitoring of outdoor areas.

Variable speed 360° panning at speeds of up to 700°/s provides quick and precise navigation across a wide area, ideal for closely monitoring a person or incident. Axis’ innovative Sharpdome technology allows the camera to provide optimal image sharpness and precision in all pan and tilt positions, enabling clear identification of objects, even up to 20° above the horizon.

A range of advanced imaging technologies help the camera to deliver sharp, detailed footage in a variety of lighting conditions. Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS) helps to reduce the effects of camera movement from wind or vibrations. An additional feature of Axis’ Sharpdome technology is a Speed Dry function that vibrates the dome at high speed to remove water droplets. This ensures clear images can be captured in rainy conditions or environments where the camera is subject to high pressure cleaning.

Video motion detection methods can be configured to help provide reliable and accurate security monitoring. Axis’ Gatekeeper technology enables the camera to automatically move to a pre-set position when motion is detected in a pre-defined area, allowing further analysis and easier identification when investigating events. Additionally, the integrated shock detection provides reliable, real-time detection of vandalism attempts.

Support for High Power-over-Ethernet (PoE+) allows both power and network connection to be delivered to the camera via a single cable, simplifying installation. H.264 and M-JPEG compression standards are supported in this unit, providing flexible storage and bandwidth management. Additionally, local storage is enabled with the use of an SD card (not included) which can also be utilised as a data backup if network connection is lost.
