Overview of the Axis Q6054-E Mk III

This PTZ dome by Axis delivers round-the-clock, HD 720p video capture at up to 50 frames per second (fps). Its robust, IK10-rated metal housing offers protection in exposed areas and regions of interest can be examined in detail using the camera’s full pan/tilt functionality and 30x optical zoom. The unit also includes Axis Lightfinder, focus recall and is supplied with a High Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) midspan.

Users are able to precisely navigate across wide areas using the camera’s endless 360° pan and variable pan/tilt movements, helpful when closely monitoring activity. Focus recall technology is also included and helps to improve PTZ performance by providing instant focus in predefined areas – even in difficult lighting. This helpful feature removes the need to manually focus or wait for autofocus to adjust and is useful in scenarios that require a lot of manual operation using a joystick.

Wide dynamic range (WDR) allows details in scenes with bright and dark areas to be viewed clearly, whilst Axis Lightfinder technology supports the capture of full colour images - even in extreme levels of low light. Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS) is also supported and helps to reduce the effects of camera movement from wind or vibrations.

A range of motion detection alarms can be configured to alert users of activity in pre-defined areas of the scene. These alarms can also be used in combination with Axis’ Active Gatekeeper so that if motion is detected, the camera will pan to a preset position and then auto track the object or individual.

The unit’s tough vandal-resistant housing makes it suitable for deployment in external areas and Axis’ Arctic Temperature Control is included to enable safe start-up in temperatures as low as -40°C.

Axis' Zipstream technology analyses and optimises the video stream in real time, recording interesting detail in high quality, whilst filtering other areas out to reduce bandwidth and storage use. Support for High PoE supplies power and network connectivity to the unit over a single cable, reducing cabling for a cost-effective installation solution. In addition, integrated SD card storage (card not included) provides a handy data back up in the case of network failure.
