Ideal for monitoring outdoor areas in forensic detail, the powerful Axis Q1808-LE delivers outstanding video quality at up to 4K resolution, with lens capabilities for both wide open scenes and detail at extended distances, thanks to the choice of wide or telephoto lens by Canon. Featuring advanced image optimisation capabilities, you can rely on clear, enhanced video 24-hours a day even in demanding lighting conditions, as well as long-range IR illumination for sharp monochrome images in complete darkness. The deep learning processing unit (DLPU) runs powerful video analytics on the edge, and improves processing and storage capabilities allowing greater capture and analysis of data without compromise, in turn facilitating even faster search and retrieval of metadata. Outdoor-ready and robust, this camera is rated IP66/67 and IK10 for protection against vandalism and wet weather conditions.
Imaging and Optics
Thanks to its ultra-high light sensitive 4/3" 10MP sensor, excellent quality images up to 4K UHD resolution are delivered even in low-light conditions, with a range of features to further optimise monitoring of areas with challenging lighting conditions. Lightfinder 2.0 technology in the image processor ensures true colour footage in extremely low-lighting, Forensic WDR tackles uneven contrast and shadowing, and OptimizedIR provides clear monochrome video in complete darkness. At extended zoom levels, image stability can suffer due to vibrations and wind, so built-in Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS) ensures a smooth, consistent video feed.
Wide Lens
Provided as standard on the Axis Q1808-LE, the 12 - 48mm F1.7 - 4.0 Canon varifocal wide lens offers a 21° - 90° horizontal viewing angle, ideal for rich, detailed monitoring of wide open spaces. Equipped with 4x optical zoom, you can easily operate this function through the camera interface or video management system to hone in and focus on important areas. Integrated infrared LEDs provide IR illumination up to 100m, and for an added level of deterrance, the default variant features white light and IR LEDs (850nm), which when turned on actively illuminate dark areas to help prevent unwanted activity.
Tele Lens
For exceptional detail at extended distances, the Axis Q1808-LE 150mm variant (02508-001) features a 50 - 150mm F4.0 Canon varifocal tele lens providing a horizontal viewing angle of 7° - 21°, and the 3x optical zoom offers an impressive range ideal for identification purposes and focusing on the finer details. Optimized IR delivers monochrome images in complete darkness up to 120m without the need for additional lighting.
Video Analytics
Preinstalled Axis Object Analytics (AOA) offers intelligent object detection and identification, and thanks to the improved power of the DLPU, more granular classification is provided via metadata analysis for more accurate identification of faces, license plate recognition (LPR) and specific types of vehicles including buses, trucks and bikes. Additional features such as line crossing, object in area and occupancy counting enhance situational awareness, with support for other Axis and third-party applications allowing you to integrate customised analytics for a more bespoke monitoring solution. You can also incorporate speakers and other audio devices through network pairing, which can activate audible alerts upon detection of supported events.
Recording and Video Management
Compatible with all major video management systems, the camera has Axis Zipstream technology, which ensures data storage is optimised, by identifying and optimising video frames containing important data more so than unnecessary footage, lowering bandwidth and storage requirements up to 50%.

Installation and mounting options
With its PoE-out port, an additional device can be powered and connected to the network via this camera with ease, including audio devices, PoE-powered lights, or another camera. For example, the Axis T94V01C Dual Camera Mount allows two Q1808-LE cameras to be conveniently mounted back-to-back for high-quality monitoring of both ends of a long street or hallway via a single connection to the network.
