Designed as a low-cost camera option for use onboard buses or other vehicles, this compact camera can withstand the vibrations associated with moving vehicles and capture HD 1080p video as lighting conditions change throughout the vehicle's journey.
Providing an affordable solution to onboard monitoring, the Axis M3905-R delivers clear HD 1080p resolution at full frame rate. This compact unit is ideally situated on public transport as it can withstand shocks and vibrations that may occur onboard vehicles. Equipped for use in extremely low light levels, the camera features Lightfinder technology that provides high-resolution, full-colour video footage in near darkness. This smart technology reduces motion blur and noise to produce clear video without the need for external light sources. Additionally, the M3905-R includes Axis’ unique Traffic Light Mode, enabling the camera to distinguish between the colour of traffic lights, even in dark scenes – useful when travelling at night.
The camera is installed with a 3.6mm lens out of the box, providing 88° horizontal views, however, exchangeable lenses are available to provide alternative viewing options. Protected from dust and strong jets of water, the robust M3905-R is encased in IP66/67-rated aluminium casing and can be placed in additional housing allowing it to be used outdoors. Furthermore, users have a choice of an RJ-45 or M12 model providing flexible network connection options.
When conditions are less than optimal or require some adjustment, a range of imaging technologies is available to ensure that video quality is clear and consistent. In scenes that have high levels of contrast, it is difficult to distinguish key details, however, Forensic WDR is included to combat this, using advanced image processing to tune the image and reduce visible noise and artefacts. Ideal for use in bus aisles or train carriages, this camera can use Corridor Format to optimise the capture of narrow scenes by rotating the sensor 90° - preventing the recording of redundant
Integrated motion and tampering detection allow this camera to identify activity and notify users via email as soon as it happens, accurately and efficiently. Even if operators are not on-site, they can receive notifications and act accordingly, ensuring instances of tampering are dealt with and undesirable behaviour is limited. The M3905-R also supports the Axis Camera Application Platform (ACAP), a library of custom applications, allowing users to create a tailored analytics solution that suits their requirements.
Data loss in the event of network failure can be avoided with built-in edge storage capabilities, allowing video to be saved to an onboard SD card (card not included). Video can be easily managed for free using the Axis Companion Application which offers remote access and basic video management for up to 16 camera channels. If more sophisticated management is required, or the system exceeds 16 cameras, the unit can be managed using an advanced VMS such as Axis Camera Station or Milestone XProtect.
To make installation as efficient as possible, this camera is included with all necessary accessories for wall and ceiling mounting. Power and network can both be connected via one cable with Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) support, reducing the time and equipment needed for installation. Moreover, with Zipstream compression technology storage requirements are kept to a minimum, without compromising the quality of important forensic footage.
Please note: this camera does not come with a power supply. Select one from the options below.
Offering an affordable option for onboard monitoring, the Axis M3907-R features excellent low-light capture and a robust design, ideal for use on buses, taxis or trams.
