Overview of the Axis P3905-R MK II

The compact Axis P3905-R MK II dome IP camera is designed for use in transportation and provides full HD 1080p resolution at up to 25 frames per second (fps). It is housed in robust IP67-rated casing and features a host of Axis’ advanced imaging technologies, helping to deliver clearer images in problematic lighting conditions. Supplied with either a male RJ-45 or M12 connector, this unit also supports edge storage, Zipstream technology and can be accessed remotely using the free Axis Companion application.

The camera has a horizontal viewing angle of 87° and is compliant with many transportation-industry regulations – standing up to difficult conditions such as vibrations, shock and inconsistent temperatures. This model also includes Axis’ Corridor Format technology which maximises the area of interest in narrow scenes by vertically orientating the video stream and preventing redundant areas from being recorded.

Traffic Light mode allows the camera to more easily determine the different colours of traffic lights in darker scenes, and WDR – Forensic Capture ensures details in high-contrast scenes are not lost. In addition, Axis’ Lightfinder technology supports the capture of full-colour images, even in near-dark conditions.

A range of configurable, camera-based video motion detection alarms are available to help alert users of activity via a choice of notification methods including email. These can also be used to trigger recording to the onboard microSD card (not included), which offers a helpful backup of data if the network fails and allows the camera to be used in a stand-alone set-up. External devices can also be connected via alarm I/O ports for enhanced alarm signalling.

Zipstream technology analyses and optimises the video stream in real-time, recording important details in high quality, whilst filtering out other areas to help reduce bandwidth and storage use. Additionally, Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) supplies the unit with both power and network connectivity over a single cable for a quick and cost-effective installation.

Please note: there is no power supply included with this unit. It is power over ethernet capable.
