Overview of the Axis A8105-E

This compact unit by Axis is an open IP-based door station that enables intercom-style communication, remote door entry and security surveillance – all from a single device. It includes an integrated network camera which features HD 1080p capability and a handful of advanced imaging technologies to enable clear visual identification of persons. The unit also offers support for two-way audio, Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) and remote access via a mobile device.

The built-in IP camera captures high-quality HD 1080p video at full frame rate and provides a wide horizontal view of 180°. Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) - Forensic Capture is also supported, enabling details in scenes with bright and dark areas to be viewed clearly. In addition, Axis’ Digital Corridor Format helps to maximise the area of interest in narrow scenes by vertically orientating the video stream. Identification is enhanced with the built-in microphone and speaker, providing echo-free two-way audio support. This combination of high-quality imaging and full duplex audio results in an advanced intercom system - allowing users to easily see and communicate with visitors.

The door station features an open interface, allowing helpful integration with third-party video management software and other applications. This provides users with the flexibility to add both communication and entry control into their surveillance system – helping to improve overall security. The unit also supports Axis Camera Station and remote access via mobile applications.

Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is supported for integration with various IP phone systems to help meet advanced audio and video communication requirements. Multiple I/O ports are also included for the remote control of door locks and other equipment to help improve access control.

Configurable, video motion and audio detection alarms help to alert users of activity via a choice of notification methods including email. These detection alarms can also be set to trigger local recording onto the on-board MicroSD card (not included).

Axis Zipstream technology analyses and optimises the video stream in real-time, recording important details in high quality, whilst filtering out other areas to help reduce bandwidth and storage use. Helpful support for PoE allows both power and network connectivity to be supplied to the door station over a single cable - simplifying installation.

Please note: there is no power supply included with this unit. It is power over ethernet capable.
