Overview of the Panasonic i-PRO WV-S2131L

This fixed dome IP camera from Panasonic i-PRO delivers smooth HD 1080p resolution images at up to 60 frames per second (fps). The unit supports true day/night recording and is enhanced by integrated infrared illumination, providing up to 30 metres of clear night vision. Additional features include Extreme Super Dynamic technology, Intelligent Face Compression, Smart coding, two-way audio, edge storage and Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) support for simplified installation.

The Panasonic i-PRO WC-S2131L’s lens, which provides wide horizontal views of up to 110°, also includes a 3.6x motorised zoom which allows the optimum field of view to be easily set remotely. An optical zoom is also available which enables real-time investigation into specific regions of interest.

Images captured in high contrast scenes are improved with Extreme Super Dynamic imaging technology. By ensuring details in both bright and dark areas are not lost, objects and individuals can be more easily identified. Intelligent Auto (iA) mode monitors scene dynamics and motion, then automatically adjusts key camera settings in real-time to reduce image distortion such as motion blur in busy locations.

Configurable video motion detection alarms can be set to trigger recording to the on-board SD card and inform users of activity via email notification. External devices can also be connected to the camera through integrated I/O ports to enhance alarm signalling or enable features such as two-way audio. With support for PoE, this camera is also able to receive power and network connectivity over one cable for cost-effective installation.

This IP camera reduces bandwidth usage by using Smart Coding technologies such as Variable Image Quality on Specified area (VIQS), which allows the user to set eight designated areas that they wish to retain the highest image quality, whilst excluded areas will have decreased image quality. H.265 compression format is also supported - offering further reductions on bandwidth and storage over H.264.
