Overview of the Bosch MIC IP Starlight 7000 HD

This outdoor-ready PTZ network camera is part of the Starlight series by Bosch. It delivers high quality HD 720p resolution at up to 50 frames per second (fps), even in environments with ambient light extremes. This advanced model has full pan/tilt/zoom functionality and 30x optical zoom for in depth investigation. Its tough IP68 and IK10 rated housing, alongside support for true day/night recording, makes it an ideal choice for round the clock surveillance in industrial sites. In addition, resolutions up to HD 1080p are supported in this range and can be selected from the dropdown menu above.

A continuous 360° pan and variable speed pan/tilt movements enable efficient navigation throughout a wide scene – ideal for closely monitoring a person or incident. This unit features Bosch's ultra-low light 'Starlight' technology that produces detailed, low noise images in near darkness. An optional illuminator accessory (please select in dropdown menu above) can be fitted to the unit, enabling the detection of objects in complete darkness at a range of up to 175m (HD 720p model) or 300m (HD 1080p model). It consists of both IR and white light LEDs and operators can switch between the two light sources with a single click. The unique diffuser technology ensures even illumination across the entire scene – enhancing night-time surveillance.

Sometimes referred to by the industry as "Metal Mickey", the unit’s full metal body complies with some of the toughest industry standards -providing protection from harsh weather conditions and continuous low frequency vibrations. An integrated silicone wiper allows clear image capture regardless of weather conditions, whilst the built-in heater acts as a window defrosting function in extreme low temperatures.

Intelligent defog technology improves visibility in images captured in smoke, fog and haze. This function can be set to run continuously or configured to activate when the cameras visibility is impaired. Image stabilisation functions help to reduce the effects of camera movement from wind or vibrations. Additionally, noise reduction ensures ultra-low light images have less noise - resulting in a clearer image requiring less bandwidth.

Bosch’s Intelligent Video Analytics is i-LIDS approved, edge based technology that offers a range of configurable alarms to help provide reliable security monitoring. A total of 16 rules are available including line crossing and people counting, and up to 8 rules can be processed simultaneously. Detailed metadata is recorded at the point of capture, allowing users to later retrieve specific footage from hours of stored video, quickly and easily. By running this advanced technology at the edge, all this processing is done without putting any load on the network or central resources.

Intelligent Video Analytics (IVA) has been specially designed for harsh environments. Its ability to differentiate between genuine security events and known false triggers – such as snow, rain, wind and reflections on water help deliver the highest level of accuracy and make it suitable for mission critical applications. By reducing the occurrence of costly false alarms, users are able to focus on what is most relevant to them.

Support for High Power-over-Ethernet allows both power and the network connection to be delivered to the camera via a single cable, simplifying installation. The unit supports a range of mounting options (available separately) to ensure an optimum view is captured. H.264, JPEG and MJPEG compression standards are supported, providing flexible storage and bandwidth management.
