Designed for reliable use in busy indoor areas, the AUTODOME 5100i by Bosch offers smooth 4MP resolution video at up to 60 fps. Featuring a ½” sensor, the camera can generate higher quality video in lower light conditions, allowing more light per pixel – reducing noise that could obscure footage. Additionally, when light levels are as low as 0.0107 lux, the unit can still produce detailed full-colour video with Bosch’s Starlight technology, making it easier to identify objects when lighting is insufficient.
Camera
Scene navigation is efficient and comprehensive with this unit’s full PTZ capabilities. 360° endless pan and 90° sky-to-floor tilt allow users to cover the entire viewing area with one camera whilst the 20x zoom enables real-time investigation into specific areas of interest. The unit enables two styles of guard tour; pre-position with up to 256 configurable pre-positions and record/playback that supports 2 recorded tours of up to 15 minutes. Furthermore, with the combination of smart coding and intelligent dynamic noise reduction technology, bandwidth is kept low, decreasing the required storage capacity and associated costs.
Imaging
The AUTODOME 5100i indoor features an automatic IR-cut filter, allowing it to switch to black-and-white mode when light levels fall below 0.0107 lux. HDR X is included to help retain detail across images with high-contrast lighting by combining multiple images with different exposure times to increase the overall dynamic range. Optimised for areas with high levels of movement, HDR X also helps reduce motion blur and artefacts. Offering several pre-configured scene modes, users can optimise image settings according to lighting conditions and individual scene dynamics, ensuring the best possible video quality in a range of conditions. Moreover, vulnerable individuals or private areas can be concealed with AUTO privacy masks, enabling up to 8 masks to be active in one scene and dynamic colour adaptation – this safeguards areas where recording is not permitted.
Video analytics
A range of intelligent analytics options are available to improve scene awareness and enable proactive monitoring of the entire scene. Bosch Essential Video Analytics comes pre-installed, providing reliable identification and classification of objects such as an upright person, car, bike or truck – allowing alarm triggers to be set when a specified object enters the scene, crosses a line or loiters. When reviewing footage, users can search for instances of multiple line crossing, loitering, and idle/removed objects and can gather information such as crowd density estimation, occupancy and people counting. Objects can also be filtered based on size, speed, direction, aspect ratio, and colour. Moreover, alarm signalling is enhanced when external alarm sources are connected via I/O ports.
Video management
To decrease the chance of data loss in the event of network failure, the camera has an integrated SD card slot (card not included) enabling a backup of video data to be stored directly on the edge. Video can be easily managed in smaller installations using the Bosch Viewer application, allowing forensic search, live and recorded playback, and footage export options. In more complicated monitoring systems, the camera can be connected to an advanced VMS product such as Milestone XProtect.
Installation
Made with straightforward installation at the forefront, the Bosch AUTODOME 5100i indoor supports Power-over-Ethernet Plus (PoE+) connection, reducing the number of cables required as it streamlines power and network delivery. Another handy feature is Bosch's universal mounting accessories, making it easy to select and purchase the correct mounting brackets for the required positioning.
