Overview of the Axis Companion Dome WV

This affordable dome IP camera is part of the Axis Companion Series and delivers HD 1080p resolution at full frame rate. Housed in an IK08-rated casing, the compact unit enables unobtrusive indoor surveillance and is also easily connected to the network over wireless LAN or Ethernet. Optimised for edge storage, the camera is supplied with an Axis Companion 64GB card and users can gain quick remote access via the free Axis Companion video management software.

The integrated wireless LAN feature enables the camera to be connected to WI-FI access points and can be set up quickly using the unit's WSP button. Wireless connectivity removes the need for a network cable and is an ideal choice for home users, as well as in small business applications. Additionally, live footage from the camera can be displayed when a monitor is connected through the HDMI output.

Providing a 106° horizontal angle of view, the camera enables users to view a wide area of the scene with a single IP camera. The camera utilities a variety of imaging features such as wide dynamic range (WDR) to produce high quality video - even in complex lighting conditions. Axis Corridor Format is also included and helps to maximise the area of interest in narrow scenes by vertically orientating the video stream.

Users can install the Axis Companion application to provide a simple video management solution of up to 16 camera channels. This free software is available as a PC client or mobile application for iOS and Android devices, to provide users with remote access to live views as well as playback of recordings.

Axis Video Motion Detection 3 analytics are included as a range of video motion detection alarms can be configured to help enhance scene awareness. These motion detection alarms can also be set to trigger MicroSD card recording when using the Axis Companion video management software and mobile app - ensuring all activity is captured. For a simple all-in-one monitoring and recording solution, users are able to connect one of the Axis Companion recorders to increase storage space up to 4TB - ideal for small business applications.

Additionally, Axis Zipstream technology analyses and optimises the video stream in real-time, recording important details in high quality, whilst filtering out other areas to help reduce bandwidth and storage use.
