Overview of the Axis T8351 microphone
Part of the Axis T83 range of professional microphones, the Axis T8351 microphone offers high performance in all scenarios, providing audio data that can be used for non-invasive sound detection or to complement video surveillance.
The T8351 has a 3.5mm connector and is compatible with all network cameras that have a 3.5mm jack for microphone input. The microphone is omni-directional and able to pick up sound from its surroundings without the need to be aimed directly at the source. It provides enhanced audio quality in comparison to microphones that are already built into camera housings.
The Axis T8351 provides a valuable addition to a CCTV system as users can assess the urgency level in an emergency situation such as for example shouting, unusual loud noises, breakages or abusive language, and it also extends the camera to be used as an intercom system. The T8351 microphone can be easily installed on ceilings or walls and comes with a wide range of fitting accessories. The unit's compact size is ideal for unobtrusive audio surveillance and an optional 5 metre cable (sold separately) enables installation near to the sound source. This Axis microphone can be used indoors as well as in covered outdoor environments such as porches, under canopies and in train stations.
