Overview of the Axis T8351 Mk II microphone

Part of the Axis T83 professional microphone range, this microphone provides high-quality audio capture and is designed to be used by an Axis IP camera without these functionalities 'built-in' (please check datasheet for model compatibility). Ideal for demanding applications with low ambient noise levels, this unit can be used for unobtrusive sound detection or to complement video surveillance.

The hemispherical microphone can capture sound from every direction, without the need to be positioned directly at the sound source. This device is compatible with Axis network products that have a 3.5mm jack for microphone input or a 4-pin audio connector. It provides enhanced audio quality in comparison to microphones that are built into camera housings. Additionally, when paired with the Axis Audio Extension Cable B 5m (please select from the dropdown menu if required), users can place the microphone up to 5m away from the connected camera - offering flexible installation options.

Integrating audio into existing CCTV systems enables users to hear activity occurring within the scene in live view and listen to audio recordings in playback - helpful when investigating footage for evidential purposes. Additionally, the unit's non-invasive casing can be easily mounted onto walls or ceilings - for unobtrusive surveillance of exposed locations.
