This advanced outdoor PTZ camera is part of the powerful Q series by Axis that are designed for use in demanding applications. It captures HD 1080p resolution video at up to 50 frames per second, which is ideal for detailed monitoring of highly populated areas, as well as offering long-range IR illumination. The camera’s 31x optical zoom and full pan/tilt functionality allow in-depth examination of outdoor locations. The unit is able to utilise a variety of Axis’ high-performance technologies such as Autotracking 2 and Object Analytics - thanks to the inclusion of their powerful ARTPEC-7 chip.
This high-performance camera offers precise navigation across wide areas using the unit’s variable pan/tilt movements (including 360° endless rotation), which is particularly helpful when closely monitoring a person or incident. In addition, as the camera is part of the Axis Sharpdome range, it is also able to ‘look up’ as much as 20° above the horizon. A built-in weather shield offers protection by preventing raindrops from residing on the camera dome and when coupled with Speed Dry functionality, ensures optimum visibility in a range of weather conditions. Additionally, the camera features OptimisedIR which intelligently adjusts the intensity of the IR LEDs to deliver clearer night vision at distances of up to 300m with less chance of overexposure.
This camera features Axis’ Forensic WDR which lowers noise levels and increases the image signal, ensuring details are clearly visible in both bright and dark areas when contrast levels are high. The unit also includes laser focus which offers a more enhanced autofocus feature, allowing the camera to focus even faster than cameras with standard autofocus. An integrated laser emits a safe beam to measure the distance between the camera and an object to instantly identify the correct focus level in any pan/tilt angle – even in challenging light conditions.
Motion detection can be used to trigger certain tasks such as moving directly to a pre-set location to ensure all activity is captured. Basic video analytics are supplemented by the combination of Axis’ Advanced Gatekeeper Technology and Autotracking 2, which identify significant activity and then track the relevant individual or object. Axis’ Object Analytics can detect and classify humans or vehicles when entering a pre-defined area. This can then be used to trigger multiple scenarios simultaneously based on the activity identified, enhancing the camera’s scene awareness.
Edge storage is included and can support a standalone set-up or recordings to be backed up to the onboard MicroSD card (not included) if the network fails. For more comprehensive video management, the camera can be integrated with Axis Camera Station or Milestone XProtect
Supplied with an Axis High PoE midspan, this unit receives both power and network connectivity through one cable – significantly simplifying installation. The camera’s IP67 weather-resistant casing is also IK10-rated for impact protection, making it ideal for deployment in exposed areas where tampering or vandalism may be a problem.
