Overview of the Axis Q6155-E

Part of the advanced Q61 series by Axis, this outdoor-ready PTZ captures high quality HD 1080p video at full frame rate – 24 hours a day. The camera’s full pan/tilt functionality and powerful 30x optical zoom enable in-depth investigation of specific areas, and a selection of innovative technologies ensure the delivery of clear images – in any viewing direction or lighting condition. Edge storage is also included and the unit can be easily installed via high Power-over-Ethernet (PoE).

The camera’s variable pan/tilt movements (including a 360° rotation), alongside powerful 30x optical zooming allows users to precisely navigate across large locations and examine areas of interest in closer detail. The camera is also able to ‘look-up’ as much as 20° above the horizon thanks to Axis’ Sharpdome technology. In addition, an integrated laser emits a safe beam that measures the distance between the camera and an object to instantly deliver optimum image focus in any pan/tilt position - even in near darkness.

Support for wide dynamic range (WDR) – Forensic Capture technology allows details in scenes with bright and dark areas to be viewed clearly, whilst Axis’ Lightfinder provides full colour viewing in ambient light extremes. Another feature of Axis’ Sharpdome technology is a Speed Dry function that vibrates the dome at high speed to remove water droplets - ensuring the clear capture of images if the dome is subject to rain or high pressure cleaning.

Video motion detection alarms can be configured to alert users of activity via notification such as email. When used alongside Axis’ Active Gatekeeper, these alarms can also trigger the camera to automatically pan to a pre-set position and then auto track the object or individual until it leaves the field of view.

Axis’ Zipstream technology helps to lower bandwidth and storage levels by an average of up to 50%. It optimises the video stream in real-time, allowing important details to be retained while unnecessary data is removed. Installation is simplified with support for high PoE and recordings can be written to the on-board SD card (not included) to provide a helpful backup of data if the network fails.
