Part of the Q36-series of outdoor domes, the Q3628-VE operates on Axis’ latest chipset, ARTPEC-8, and features a DLPU that enables it to make use of powerful AI-based analytics directly on the camera. Pan/tilt/roll/zoom (PTRZ) capabilities enable remote adjustment of the camera’s position, meaning that the camera's field of view can be amended remotely after installation. A robust camera suitable for outdoor deployment the unit is encased in an IP66- and IK10-rated housing, allowing it to perform well in the harshest conditions. Ideal for use in construction or logistics, this durable unit is also equipped with cybersecurity features such as Axis Edge Vault to help prevent unauthorised access or compromise. In the Q3628-VE its low light performance is a key feature as it is packed with advanced imaging technologies such as Forensic WDR and Lightfinder 2.0.

Imaging and Optics

As the highest resolution model in the Q36 series, the Axis Q3628-VE delivers excellent 4K resolution video at up to 60 fps, providing crisp and detailed images of fast-moving objects such as vehicles. With a 6.2 mm - 12.9 mm varifocal lens this camera can be set to provide a horizontal field of view of between 103° and 48° and vertical views of 56.4° to 27.4°. Engineered for reliability, this camera makes use of its advanced imaging technologies to compensate for difficult lighting and produce high-resolution footage. Full-colour video is available in light conditions down to 0.07 lux with Lightfinder 2.0, Axis’ most advanced low-light technology that offers greater light sensitivity than its predecessor. 3D Noise reduction and Forensic WDR technologies also also used to improve image clarity in difficult lighting conditions. Optimised for motion, Axis Forensic WDR technology also ensures that few motion artefacts are apparent in scenes with high levels of activity.

Video Analytics

Pre-installed on the camera, Axis’ intuitive Object Analytics make use of AI-based algorithms to analyse the scene and filter out unwanted alerts, providing accurate real-time detection and classification of moving objects including vehicles and human beings. You are able to customise your detections and set up to 10 simultaneous detection scenarios such as line crossing, object in area, or occupancy. The camera’s analytic capabilities also provide valuable metadata that enables quick and easy forensic search functions, saving time when further investigation is required. Moreover, the unit’s I/O ports allow audio devices to be connected and facilitate audio detection alerts.

Additional Axis applications and third-party applications are also available to create a tailored solution and expand the camera’s functionality.
