A primary use of this camera and radar combo can be to improve road safety and optimise traffic flow. The combination of radar and video-based detection enables accurate speed and direction monitoring, whilst support for LPR applications provides licence plate capture to link vehicles to driving offences. Equipped with a 60GHz radar, it can record the speed of vehicles up to 125mph (200km/h) across multiple lanes, regardless of weather or light conditions. With a 4MP image sensor and 9° - 46° horizontal FoV, the device is configured with the ideal pixel density needed for licence plate recognition, whilst the included traffic-optimised IR illumination kit enables performance in complete darkness up to a 50m range. Lightfinder 2.0 and Forensic WDR optimise scenes with poor and diverse lighting for improved clarity.
Its open platform design means it can be easily integrated into traffic monitoring systems, and trigger external devices such as warning lights and speed display monitors to alert drivers to their behaviours. Visualise gathered metadata in a dashboard to develop actionable insights. The unit is easy to install, with one cable drop and one IP address, and the built-in licence plate capture assistant automatically adjusts image settings to suit the scene, saving on installer and on-site time.
Video Analytics
Axis Object Analytics (AOA) comes preinstalled, providing reliable detection and classification of humans, as well as vehicles and their types such as buses, bikes and trucks. When an object is detected, it can be visualised on-screen in colour coded bounding boxes. Its deep learning processor uses AI-algorithms to ensure highly accurate classification, resulting in fewer false alarms so operators can focus on important incidents.
Further, its advanced radar technology enables reliable and accurate speed detection, whilst multiple detection zones and virtual line crossings can provide operators with multiple accurate notifications. Small and swaying object filters ignore insignificant events such as falling leaves and animals. Configure alerts upon analytic events, using the 2 x I/O ports to trigger external alarms
