Axis Perimeter Defender is a flexible video analytics application optimised for use with supported Axis thermal IP cameras providing scalable perimeter surveillance and protection, suitable for large-scale, mission-critical installations. The application ensures security monitoring begins at the very edge of a location, delivering early detection at the perimeter. It provides accurate detection capabilities with simultaneous support for numerous detection scenarios, such as intrusion alert, zone crossing and loitering warning.

A combination of motion and AI-based detection analytics accurately and reliably detects and classifies persons and vehicles, issuing early warning alerts if they attempt to breach user-defined borders or perimeters. It can also be used to activate external devices such as speakers, sirens and lights to warn off intruders. Integration with the Axis Perimeter Defender PTZ Autotracking application enables PTZ cameras to automatically zoom in and track objects for greater details.

Perimeter Defender can be deployed across multiple Axis thermal IP cameras, enabling detection and video capture of simultaneous events in different locations. Analysis is handled onboard the camera and can be configured to dismiss non-threatening situations. This allows the operator to be notified of potentially critical incidents for faster response times, as well as helping to minimise the number of false alarms.

Automatic calibration and an integrated, intuitive system design tool allow for simplified setup - reducing installation and configuration time. With support for a range of VMS platforms and alarm outputs, this Axis video analytic can be easily integrated into a system such as Milestone XProtect Alarm Manager to provide reliable perimeter detection and the effective delivery of external alarms.

Please note: this product is available as a single or 10-pack licence - one licence per camera is required. Detection calibration of the Axis Perimeter Defender application is performed through a separate free application.
