Building on its predecessor, the Axis P5654-E, this model brings improved imaging (wider field of view) and greater object detection, for a more proactive and intuitive monitoring solution. The P5654-E Mk II is a straightforward entry-level PTZ from Axis that is equipped for outdoor use with its durable NEMA 4X, IP66 and IK10-rated vandal-resistant casing. Preinstalled with Axis’ edge-based Object Analytics, the camera can detect and classify moving objects in real-time, providing high levels of scene awareness. When conditions become challenging, advanced imaging technologies such as Lightfinder 2.0 and Forensic WDR counteract insufficient lighting to provide clear video. Furthermore, Zipstream technology is included to lower bandwidth and storage capacity whilst preserving important details at full frame rate. Responsive and intelligent, this camera is the ideal choice for large in and outdoor retail and business applications.
Imaging and Optics
Delivering a higher resolution than the previous P5654 model, the P5654-E Mk II captures smooth video in HD 1080p resolution at up to 60 fps, suitable for areas with fast-moving objects such as items on conveyor belts or vehicles. Producing horizontal views up to 77° with its varifocal lens, the unit is able to cover a wide area, even whilst static. Using 360° endless pan and 180° tilt movements you can proactively navigate across wide areas, which is particularly helpful when closely monitoring a person or object, and the 21x optical zoom allows you to obtain close-up views in areas of interest. Focus recall also allows you to save multiple focus areas for the camera to automatically return to when it moves into that view. When the camera is subject to vibrations, Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS) utilises the built-in gyroscope sensors that detect the camera’s movements and adjust the frame to ensure that footage stays smooth. Designed for 24-hour use, along with its IR-cut filter, the camera features Lightfinder 2.0 that produces full-colour video down to 0.1 lux. Forensic WDR technology optimises video by lowering noise levels and increasing the image signal to ensure details are visible in both dark and bright areas, as well as ensuring few motion artefacts are apparent in scenes with high levels of activity.
Video Analytics
Highly customisable and accurate, Axis Object Analytics is preinstalled on this camera, enabling intelligent object detection and classification that analyses the scene to reduce false detections, as well as gathering important metadata that can be searched through for easier footage retrieval at a later date. You can define exactly what you want to detect by setting up to ten simultaneous detection scenarios including line crossing, object in area and occupancy. The unit is also equipped with Axis' Autotracking 2 which enables you to easily follow an object of interest around the viewing area in real time, ensuring no important events are missed. Additional analytics include Axis Motion Guard, Axis Fence Guard, Axis Advanced Gatekeeper and Axis Loitering Guard.
A range of additional Axis and third-party applications are available to help you customise your system.

Installation and mounting options
Engineered for reliability and durability, the P5654-E MK II is encased in IP66, IK10 and NEMA 4X-rated aluminium housing that can withstand temperatures between -30°C and +50°C. Another addition to this model is the enhanced cybersecurity features including Axis Edge Vault, signed firmware and secure boot to protect against malware and to ensure that only safe and authorised firmware is allowed on the camera. To make installation easier and more affordable, support for PoE+ is included, and installation aids such as a Pixel Counter help to ensure the image’s pixel density is appropriate for the operational requirements. Further, its Zipstream compression technology reduces equipment costs and preserves important forensic detail, whilst reducing bandwidth and storage requirements by 50%.
The camera can be mounted to a ceiling out of the box. If additional mounting options are required, the following accessories are available:
