Overview of the Axis P3915-R Mk II

Designed for transportation use, this compact dome IP camera from Axis delivers high-quality HD 1080p resolution video at full frame rate. It features a range of Axis’ advanced imaging technologies for clear image capture in difficult lighting conditions and is housed in a tough, IP67-rated casing. The unit is supplied with either a male RJ-45 or rugged M12 connector (please select from the dropdown menu above) and can be accessed remotely via the free Axis Companion application.

Part of the Axis P39-R series, this unit complies with a variety of transportation-industry regulations and can withstand tough conditions such as vibrations, shock and temperature fluctuations. The unit features Traffic Light mode, which helps to better delineate the colour of traffic lights in very dark scenes. In addition, Wide Dynamic Range - Forensic Capture ensures the capture of details in high contrast scenes and Axis' Lightfinder provides full colour imaging in extreme low lighting. Axis Corridor Format is also supported and helps to maximise the area of interest in narrow scenes by vertically orientating the video stream.

The free Axis Companion software is supported and offers an easy-to-use video management solution for up to 16 IP cameras. Users can record and playback video footage from the camera’s SD card (not included) to provide a simple and low-cost monitoring solution. Axis Companion software is available as a PC client and mobile application.

Users can choose to connect a microphone (not included) through the unit’s audio input to enable audio recording. A range of configurable, camera-based audio and video motion detection alarms are available to help alert users of activity via notifications such as email. These alarms can also be used to trigger recording to the on-board microSD card (not included) – a handy backup if connection to the network is lost. In addition, the unit’s built-in I/O ports allow the connection of external devices to help enhance alarm signalling.

Axis Zipstream technology helps to lower bandwidth and storage levels by an average of up to 50%. It optimises the video stream in real-time, allowing important details to be retained while unnecessary data is removed. Additionally, Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) supplies the unit with both power and network connectivity over a single cable for a quick and cost-effective installation.
