Overview of the Axis P3904-R MK II

The Axis P3904-R MK II IP camera produces HD 720p resolution video at up to 25 frames per second (fps). Designed for use in transportation, this compact dome is housed in rugged IP67-rated casing and features a range of Axis’ advanced imaging technologies that help to deliver clear video footage in challenging lighting conditions. In addition, this unit comes supplied with the choice of either a male RJ-45 or M12 connector (please see dropdown menu above) and can be remotely accessed through the free Axis Companion application.

This unit is part of the P39-R series from Axis and is compliant with a number of transportation-industry regulations, allowing it to withstand tough conditions such as shock, vibrations and any temperature fluctuations. Providing a horizontal viewing angle of 87°, the camera also includes Axis’ Corridor Format technology which maximises area coverage and reduces bandwidth in narrow scenes by vertically orientating the video stream.

By enabling Traffic Light mode this camera can better distinguish between the different colours of traffic lights in darker scenes. Additionally, WDR - Forensic Capture ensures details in high contrast scenes are not lost, and Axis’ Lightfinder technology supports the capture of full colour images in light levels as low as 0.06 lux (30 IRE).

Camera-based video motion detection alarms are configurable and help to alert users of activity via a choice of notification methods including email. These alarms can also be set to trigger recording to the on-board microSD card (not included) - serving as a handy data backup if the network connection is interrupted. In addition, external alarm sources can be connected via built-in I/O ports to enhance alarm signalling.

Zipstream technology is included to help lower bandwidth and storage requirements. It does this by analysing and optimising the video stream in real time, recording interesting detail in high quality, whilst filtering other areas out. With support for PoE, this camera can receive power and network connectivity over one cable for cost-effective installation.
