This feature-packed outdoor-ready bullet IP camera from Axis is capable of recording its high-quality HD1080p video at up to 25 frames per second (with WDR), or a maximum of 50 fps when WDR is turned off. Integrated, power-efficient IR LEDs provide IR illumination that helps to enhance true day/night recording at a distance of up to 40m. Thanks to its ARTPEC-7 chipset, this advanced unit also features a range of intelligent analytics and imaging technologies, such as Forensic Wide Dynamic Range (WDR), Lightfinder 2.0 and Axis Object Analytics. Other useful features include edge-to-edge technology which enables connection with an Axis speaker for audio output, Power over Ethernet (PoE) support for simplified installation, and edge storage (MicroSD card not included).
Camera
A high-performance workhorse camera, it is available with a wide angle 3-9mm (providing horizontal views of up to 114°) varifocal lens, enabling the desired viewing angle to be set during installation. Integrated IR LEDs with an illumination distance of up to 40m help to enhance night vision, while Axis’ OptimisedIR technology ensures an evenly illuminated image. The unit’s audio I/O port enables the connection of an external microphone for the recording of sound within close proximity of the camera. In addition, audio output is also made possible thanks to edge-to-edge technology which facilitates a connection between the camera and an Axis speaker through smart-pairing of devices.
Imaging
A range of advanced imaging technologies are available that help the camera deliver clear video footage in difficult lighting conditions. Forensic WDR technology enables details in scenes with bright and dark areas to be viewed clearly, while Lightfinder 2.0 technology captures full-colour images in extreme low-light levels. Digital pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) controls allow the operator to quickly view areas of the image in greater detail. Areas of interest can also be monitored closely using the multi-streaming feature - which allows specific regions in the field of view to be cropped and streamed separately for live viewing or recording. With granular control over image parameters, WDR and IR illumination, this camera has all the relevant optics to make it suitable for ANPR/LPR detection and triggering. Video analytics
This advanced model comes pre-installed with Axis Object Analytics. This intelligent application uses machine learning techniques to enable the detection and classification of humans and vehicles tailored to users’ surveillance needs. This makes it easy to filter out false alarms which waste bandwidth and storage space, by only recording and sending data when an event is triggered. Camera-based video motion detection and tampering alarms are configurable and help to alert users to incidents in real time via a choice of notification methods including email. In addition, the Axis Camera Application Platform is supported – enabling the installation of other advanced third-party analytics applications.
Video management
Data can be stored directly to the onboard MicroSD card (not included) – serving as a backup if the network connection is interrupted. Recording to NAS devices is also supported for applications with larger storage capacity requirements. More sophisticated video management is possible by integrating the camera into high-performance VMS, such as Axis Camera Station and Milestone XProtect.
Installation
In this camera, remote focus and zoom eliminate the need for hands-on fine-tuning at setup, and PoE compatibility means both power and network connectivity are delivered over a single cable – simplifying the installation. The camera’s outdoor-ready housing is IP67 and IK10-rated for durable use in harsh weather conditions in areas prone to tampering.
