Overview of Axis M5013

The Axis M5013 IP security camera is an ultra-compact dome camera specifically designed for unobtrusive monitoring. Its non-invasive design makes it ideal for public areas where an overt surveillance presence would be undesirable, such as hotels, reception areas and restaurants. Alongside this, the M5013 features 360° pan/tilt and digital zoom capabilities, enabling it to monitor a larger area than a conventional fixed camera.

The Axis M5013 is equipped with a number of features to ensure optimised performance. The camera is capable of full frame-rate video in SVGA resolution, and can stream multiple video feeds in H.264, offering flexibility when deciding on recording and monitoring settings. In locations where a remote recording unit is unavailable, the M5013 can record several days of footage (dependent on quality settings) to a microSD/SDHC card using its onboard SD card slot (card not supplied).

Digital zoom also enables you to focus on specific areas of the camera's field of view for detailed monitoring. A built-in microphone also allows you to listen in to the camera's environment.

To ensure continued operation in event of emergencies in places like hotels, the camera is IP51-rated, ensuring it can continue to function in the event of sprinkler activation. The IP51 rating also ensures the camera can function in dusty areas where cleaning and maintenance do not occur on a regular basis.

The M5013 is a Power over Ethernet camera. This means both power and a network connection can be sent to the camera through one cable, reducing installation costs and saving on wiring.

This camera is compatible with the free Axis Companion software, which can be used to monitor up to 16 cameras over a network with viewing apps for PC, iPhone, iPad and Android devices. Recording directly to the SD card, Axis Companion software requires no central PC or external recording device, helping you to save on storage costs.
