Overview of the Axis M3104-L

This versatile mini-dome from Axis delivers high-quality HD 720p resolution images with built-in infrared (IR) illumination for true day/night recording and a flat-faced design that suppresses reflections. The unit’s adjustable housing provides flexibility when mounting on walls or ceilings and with support for Power-over-Ethernet (PoE), installation is made even easier. Additional features include Axis Zipstream technology and local recording to MicroSD card.

The integrated IR LED has an illumination distance of up 15m and the unit’s innovative, flat-faced design suppresses light reflections to help maximise image clarity when recording in low light. In addition, wide dynamic range (WDR) – Forensic Capture helps to improve the quality of images captured in high contrast scenes. This advanced technology lowers noise levels and increases the image signal, ensuring all details are clearly visible in both bright and dark areas. Axis Corridor Format is also supported and allows viewing in narrow scenes to be optimised by rotating the sensor 90° - preventing the recording of redundant areas.

The Axis Companion application offers a simple video management solution for up to 16 IP cameras. This free software allows users to record and playback video footage from the camera’s SD card (not included) for affordable and easy-to-use CCTV monitoring. Axis Companion software is available as a PC client and mobile application.

Camera-based video motion detection and tampering alarms help to alert users of activity via a choice of notification methods including email. Motion detection alarms can also trigger MicroSD card recording when using the Axis Companion mobile app.

Quick and easy to install, the unit includes support for PoE that delivers both power and network connectivity over a single cable. It also features a handy 3-axis mount for easy, manual adjustment of the lens to help obtain the desired field of view during set up. Axis’ advanced Zipstream technology analyses and optimises the video stream in real time, recording important details in high quality, whilst filtering out other areas to help reduce bandwidth and storage use.
