Overview of the Axis M3066-V

The Axis M3066-V is a compact mini dome IP camera with a high definition 4MP resolution. H.265 video compression reduces bandwidth and storage requirements, day/night functionality for video capture in dark rooms and WDR for sharp, uniform exposure for scenes when there’s both dark and light areas. An HDMI output provides a live stream to a public viewing monitor without a network connection.

Designed with ease of installation in mind, this ultra-compact dome is unobtrusive, comes factory focussed and when in place is easy to level and point in any direction. A single data cable is all that is required for connectivity and the snap-on case finishes a clean installation without visible screws.

With a 4MP resolution (2304x1728px) the camera will deliver large high definition images for maximum detail. Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) can even out the exposure of bright/dark areas in the scene for a more uniform result and the M3066-V will capture images in complete darkness using the IR-cut filter when combined with an external IR light.

The Axis M3066-V can also output to a public display screen directly by HDMI. With the Micro HDMI output port a live image can be broadcast on a local monitor or television without the need for a network connection or computer.

Intelligent video applications can be installed via Axis Camera Application Platform (ACAP). This give access to powerful features such as virtual tripwires, people counting, licence plate recognition etc. Pre-installed applications include Axis Video Motion Detection for alarm triggers based on movement and Active Tampering Alarm which can be set to notify the operator if the camera has been moved, obscured or damaged.

With support for the latest H.265 video format, the M3066-V is bandwidth efficient lowering bitrates, reducing total storage costs on your recording platform. Recording can be configured at the edge using the built-in MicroSD card slot or, if more storage is required, video can be stored to a NAS (Network Attached Storage). Axis Zipstream can further reduce bandwidth use by prioritising relevant information and reducing the bitrate of non-relevant areas by using dynamic regions of interest combined with dynamic GOP and frame rates.
