The Axis M1031-W is a wireless IP camera. It has been designed with quick and flexible installation in mind, and its sleek, minimal design and wireless connectivity is ideal for placement on a ceiling or wall in shops, hotels, restaurants and many other applications. It is an ideal camera for situations where a cost-effective and secure installation is a priority.

A live feed from the M1031-W can be viewed using standard web browsers such as Firefox and Internet Explorer - no additional software is required. The included Axis Camera Station One software provides a complete solution for playback, viewing and recording out of the box, should recording be a requirement.

The camera is capable of notifying you by e-mail of any activity through its anti-tampering alarm technology and built-in motion detection. Even in the dark, an integrated passive infrared sensor can detect movement. The built-in white LED can be switched on, either manually or in automated response to an event, illuminating the scene. A two-way microphone and speaker allows you to remote listen-in to the camera's surroundings and to communicate directly with individuals at the scene.

The M1031-W is also capable of compressing video using H.264. This video compression technology reduces the amount of resources required for sending video across a network without compromising on image quality, saving bandwidth and storage requirements, reducing running costs in the process.
