Overview of the Axis F34 Surveillance System

The Axis F34 surveillance system offers all of the components required for an affordable 4 camera CCTV solution - ideal for small businesses. The indoor-ready system enables simultaneous streaming of four separate areas through one Ethernet port, capturing HDTV 720p resolution video at full frame rate. The separation of lens and image sensor from the IP camera's main unit allows for an unobtrusive, flexible installation - tailored completely to the user's requirements. Additional features of this compact CCTV solution include Axis Zipstream technology and support for edge storage that can enable the use of remote monitoring via the Axis Companion app.

The system comprises of the Axis F4 main unit along with four F1004 sensor units that each have 2 optional mounting methods. Two microSDXC cards are included for local storage as well as suitable cabling and mains adaptor with mains cable. All components included in this solution are fully integrated for optimal installation and ease of use. Each 1/4" progressive scan RGB CMOS sensor features a fixed iris and wide horizontal angle of view that reaches 102°. When all four sensors are installed, wide coverage of the area is achieved - resulting in a cost-effective surveillance solution.

The divided camera concept of this system allows for non-invasive installation. The small size sensor units have a choice of mounting options giving the user flexibility with the placement of their system around the scene. With a choice of recessed or surface mounting, the user is able to provide unobtrusive surveillance for their business. The lightweight main unit can conveniently be placed up to 15m away from each sensor unit which allows the system to cover a wide area. The four sensor units all receive power through the main unit so there is no need for separate power sources - this results in a compact and easy to install system.

Axis Zipstream technology analyses and optimises the video stream in real time, recording interesting details in high quality, whilst filtering other areas out to reduce bandwidth and storage use. The system also supports H.264 and Motion JPEG compression methods for reducing file size. The use of privacy masking can also help to reduce bandwidth levels and storage by masking areas that are not of interest to prevent unwanted activity from being recorded. These masks can also be configured to prevent operators from viewing areas that are deemed private.

Various video motion detection methods can be configured to enhance dynamic scene awareness and deliver reliable security monitoring. When detected, alerts can be sent to users via a choice of notifications such as email. The system supports the Axis Companion software app, a free live view and recording software enabling mobile surveillance of any IP camera with SD card recording ability. Recording and storage of CCTV footage from the cameras SD card (not included) can be managed via the internet, providing remote camera management whilst away from site. With support for up to 16 cameras, it is an ideal choice for small and medium sized installations as the app can be downloaded to a device and monitored whenever the user requires. The Axis Companion app is available for free download for iOS and Android devices.

Power-over-Ethernet compatibility allows the main unit of this system to receive power and network connectivity over a single cable.
