This extremely robust camera is ATEX, IECEx, EAC Ex, PESO, INMETRO Zone 1/21 certified making it safe for use in combustible environments such as those exposed to flammable vapours, namely the oil, gas and manufacturing industries. Enclosed in a heavy-duty electropolished stainless steel (316L) housing it is protected from heat generation or sparks that may cause dangerous explosions. The IP67/68 rated casing means it can withstand high waves and gales in inclement weather and harsh conditions, suitable for both on- and off-shore operations such as shipping, docks and oil rigs. Thanks to seamless 180° panoramic views and ultra high-definition video quality, the entire picture is captured in rich detail with no blind spots so you can ensure critical events are always documented, in addition to a range of powerful on-board video analytics and event management features offering an effective and reliable monitoring system.

Imaging and Optics

Essentially acting as four cameras combined into one, footage caught by the four 3.2mm lenses is seamlessly stitched together resulting in a single, cohesive 180° video stream in up to 4K (4320x1920) ultra high-definition resolution. The 8-megapixel sensors deliver high quality forensic images at up to 30 frames per second ensuring important details in high occupancy areas aren't missed, which can prove essential for lively installations such as factory floors and power stations. The placement of the four sensors produces a wide angle horizontal viewing field of 180° for detailed panoramic views and no blind spots. Furthermore, contrasting and poor lighting conditions such as those caused by shadows, backlight or insufficient illumination can make some details difficult to pick up, but the built-in Forensic WDR and Lightfinder features from Axis optimise to making video clear and sharp.

Video Analytics

Equipped with a range of powerful on-board video analytics, this resilient ATEX-certified camera greatly enhances scene awareness by detecting an array of events, resulting in a variety of alert types. These can be fully customised to meet the operation's demands which can prove essential to critical installations concerned with keeping staff safe in potentially high-risk areas, such as those containing dangerous machinery. In addition to tampering and shock detection, the unit supports Motion Detection, Fence Guard for alerts when virtual lines are crossed, and Loitering Guard to trigger when a preset area has been occupied for a specified amount of time. These features can help increase overall safety of staff on the premises by reducing response times to incidents, whilst also facilitating an effective surveillance solution to handle and deter intruders.

Recording and Video Management

Built-in Axis Zipstream technology assists in ensuring data storage is optimised when recording video. The intelligent compression method differentiates between important and unnecessary recorded data and can lower bandwidth and storage requirements by up to 50%.

Recordings can be written to the preinstalled Axis Surveillance MicroSDXC card (128GB) to provide a helpful backup of data if the network fails, with further recording and video management options available below:

Installation and mounting options

Enclosed in a heavy-duty 316L stainless-steel housing rated IP67/68 for ingress protection, this ATEX-certified camera is extremely robust and ideal for deployment in hazardous Zone 1 areas at risk of exposure to flammable vapors and intense heat. Installation is made easy thanks to support for PoE which powers the unit and enables network connection via a single cable.
