Fully compatible with all Axis IP cameras and a selection of third-party units, the Axis Camera Station S2108 appliance provides a straightforward recording solution for small to medium applications. The unit comes preloaded with 8 Axis Camera Station licences and 2TB of included storage – making it an ‘out-of-the-box’ solution with reduced installation time. The appliance’s built-in 8-port Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) switch delivers power and network connection to all connected cameras. Furthermore, support for Axis Zipstream technology (when supported by the camera) significantly reduces storage requirements without compromising video quality.
Recorder
The Axis S2108 is fitted with an Intel Celeron processor and its operating system is stored on a Solid-State Drive (SSD), ensuring faster start-up and increased failure prevention. Built-in operating system recovery stored on the device allows data to be quickly recovered if the system crashes. Additionally, the unit has a built-in HDMI port, enabling the connection of an external monitor to display either a single recorded HD 1080p view or a 4 x 1080p split view, live or during playback. In addition to the HDMI port, the appliance has three USB ports that also support the connection of peripherals, for a full standalone recording system.
Video Management
To provide a handy ‘all-in-one’ recording solution, the Axis S2108 has all the necessary software preinstalled, including Axis Camera Station VMS, enabling straightforward integration and management of connected cameras.
Search Capabilities
A range of advanced search functions are available through Axis Camera Station that makes locating specific footage easier. Powered by motion object data from the connected cameras and further processed using machine and deep learning, Smart Search 2 enables users to quickly find objects of interest using a range of filters such as human, vehicle or colours.
Video Analytics
Camera-based motion and tampering detection on each connected device can be managed from this appliance. Axis Site Map provides a full overview of the entire system, and users can navigate across all camera views using the integrated pan/tilt/zoom controls - providing enhanced scene awareness.
Installation
Designed for quick and straightforward installation, this unit features the Axis Recorder Toolbox installation wizard, helping to get the system up and running as quickly and efficiently as possible. Furthermore, the recorder and its hard drives are covered by a 5-year warranty, and technical support from NW is included, ensuring full support and reliability for years to come.
