Overview of the Axis Companion Dome V

This dome IP camera is part of the affordable Axis Companion range and delivers HD 1080p resolution at up to 30 frames per second (fps). The vandal-resistant, compact unit can be easily mounted on to wall or ceiling for unobtrusive indoor surveillance and features integrated HDMI output for connection to a local monitor - ideal for small business applications. Additionally, users can gain quick remote access via the free Axis Companion application.

The camera provides a viewing angle of 106° - allowing users to monitor a wide area of the scene with a single IP camera. Images captured in high contrast scenes are improved with wide dynamic range (WDR) technology. By ensuring details in both bright and dark areas are not lost, objects and individuals can be more easily identified. Using Axis Corridor Format, users can vertically orientate the video stream, enabling the field of view to be optimised for monitoring narrow areas.

Axis Companion application is supported and provides a simple, free video management resolution for up to 16 IP cameras. Available as PC client or mobile application for Android and iOS devices, this handy software provides remote access to live views as well as playback of recordings.

Axis Video Motion Detection 3 analytics are pre-installed, and a range of video motion detection alarms can be configured to help deliver reliable and accurate CCTV monitoring. When using the Axis Companion application, these motion detection alarms can also be set to trigger recording to the MicroSD card (not included). For an all-in-one CCTV surveillance solution, users can also choose to connect one of the Axis Companion recorders - increasing storage space up to 4TB.

Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) supplies the unit with both power and network connectivity over a single cable for a quick and cost-effective installation. Axis Zipstream technology recognises when there is no movement in the scene and lowers image quality, resulting in overall reduction in bandwidth and storage requirements.
