Overview of Sony SNC-DH180

The Sony SNC-DH180 is a fixed dome IP network camera equipped with an IP66- and IK10-rated casing, making it suitable for outdoor installation in areas that are prone to vandalism and demanding weather conditions, such as bus and train stations. The SNC-DH180 is also capable of delivering a highly detailed HD 720p image and is well suited to mission critical applications such as facial identification.

The SNC-DH180 is equipped with integrated infrared lighting and an infrared filter, providing clear HD 720p resolution video at a minimum range of 20m in complete darkness. When lighting conditions drop below a specified level, the SNC-DH180 will automatically switch from a colour image to an infrared-sensitive black and white image, making it an effective round-the-clock surveillance option.

Alongside this, Sony's DEPA technology intelligently analyses the audio and video feed from the camera's environment, notifying you of any untoward activity or attempts to tamper with the camera. A number of other technologies ensure that the SNC-DH180 delivers an optimised image at all times. These include View DR™, which improves picture quality in environments with extreme backlighting or highlighting, and XDNR™, which reduces motion blur in environments with low-lighting conditons.

Using an appropriate power supply, the SNC-DH180 has a built-in heater, enabling it to operate at temperatures as low as -30°C (-22°F).

The SNC-DH180 is also equipped with Power over Ethernet, which allows power and network connectivity to be provided to the camera through a single cable, easing installation. To further aid installers, Easy Focus and Easy Zoom technology automatically optimises the image once the camera has been installed. The SNC-DH180 comes with Sony RealShot Manager Lite software, offering an effective out-of-the-box recording and playback solution.
