Overview of the Panasonic WV-SPW631L

The Panasonic WV-SPW631L bullet IP camera delivers smooth HD 1080p resolution video at up to 60 frames per second (fps), featuring Enhanced Super Dynamic and Adaptive Black Stretch (ABS) technology which provide extended dynamic range for scenes with challenging light conditions. True day/night recording is enhanced by integrated Infrared (IR) illumination, providing up to 30 metres of clear night-time images. IP66-rated for protection against harsh weather conditions, this unit also features Smart Coding technology, Auto VIQS, Face Super Dynamic, two-way audio, SD storage and support for Power-over-Ethernet.

This camera’s varifocal lens provides horizontal viewing angles of up to 105° and allows optimum scene coverage to be set during installation. A 3x motorised zoom function is also included which enables real-time investigation into specific regions of interest.

Enhanced Super Dynamic and Adaptive Black Stretch (ABS) technology helps to improve images captured in challenging lighting conditions by compensating for bright light and shadows in a scene to ensure individuals and objects are clearly visible throughout the image. This works in tandem with Face Super Dynamic technology which assists in delivering clearer facial details when identification is required.

A range of configurable, camera-based video motion detection alarms are available to help alert users of activity via a choice of notification methods including email. Additionally, the unit can provide two-way audio when a microphone and speaker are connected via an external I/O port (not included), enabling audio recording and verbal interaction through the camera. External devices can also be connected through these I/O ports to enhance alarm signalling.

This IP camera uses a host of Smart Coding technologies to help managed bandwidth levels such as Variable Image Quality on Specified area (VIQS), which allows the user to set eight designated areas that they wish to retain the highest image quality, whilst excluded areas will have decreased image quality. With support for PoE, this unit is also able to receive power and network connectivity over one cable for cost-effective installation.
