The Panasonic WV-SC387A indoor dome PTZ IP camera captures HD 720p resolution video at up to 30 frames per second (fps). This unit supports a range of Panasonic imaging technologies, including Super Dynamic and Adaptive Black Stretch (ABS) technology which delivers extended dynamic range for scenes with challenging lighting conditions - providing a clearer image. Additional features include Variable Image Quality on Specified area (VIQS), Smart coding technology, 2-way audio, SD card storage and Power-over-Ethernet (PoE).

Using variable pan/tilt movements, including an endless 360° pan, users are able to navigate precisely across wide areas, easily following any incidents or persons of interest. Combining this with a powerful 30x optical zoom (extra 45x HD optical zoom at 1280x720) the operator can obtain a close-up view of specific areas – allowing for closer investigation.

By using Super Dynamic and Adaptive Black Stretch (ABS) technology, which provides up to 128x wider dynamic range compared to conventional cameras, this PTZ helps to ensure that details in scenes with both bright and dark areas are retained. This is boosted by Face Super Dynamic technology which assists in delivering facial details when identification is needed.

Lower bandwidth and storage levels can be maintained by using Variable Image Quality on Specified area (VIQS) technology, which allows the user to set two designated areas that they want to retain at the highest image quality, whilst the excluded areas will have decreased image quality. This can be used in tandem with Smart coding’s Group of Pictures (GOP) control setting, which lowers bitrate when no movement is detected in a scene, only increasing when moving objects enter the frame.

A microphone or speaker (not included) can be connected through the audio I/O port to enable audio recording or deliver verbal instructions to those close to the camera. Also, with support for PoE, this camera is able to receive power and network connectivity over one cable for quick, cost-effective installation.
