This rack-mount video recording server can support the recording of up to 100 camera channels at HD 1080p resolution at full frame rate and is optimised for use with any Milestone XProtect video management software (VMS) product. Equipped with up to 64TB of raw local storage across four Dell Enterprise drives, dual OS drives and power supplies - this high-performance server is an ideal choice for medium-sized businesses looking for a reliable and robust solution. A 5-year NBD manufacturer warranty is also included, offering users added assurance of the server’s lifespan.

Server Hardware

Optimised for Milestone software, this server features an Intel Xeon E-2436 processor, includes 32GB of RAM and provides a recording rate of 720 Mbps. The unit also supports up to 100 channels for recording based on video streams of HD 1080p at 30 frames per second (fps), 5-8 Mbps per channel and recording on video motion detection. In addition, it features dual OS drives, power supplies and hardware RAID (0,1,5,6,10) for increased uptime. Four drive bays are pre-populated with either 16TB, 32TB, 48TB or 64TB of surveillance-grade HDD storage. Handy connections such as a VGA display port and 6 x 1 GbE (RJ45) connections are included to assist in maximising the server’s functionality.

Recording and Video Management

Any of Milestone’s XProtect software products can run on this server for a comprehensive recording solution (purchase of a Milestone XProtect base and device licences are needed). XProtect is pre-installed, but unlicensed, ready for a license file to be added. Users can then access the system through a variety of interfaces including the XProtect Smart Client, Web Client or Milestone's Mobile App.

Installation

The server’s 1U rack-mount form factor allows it to be integrated into existing IT infrastructure but is also an ideal ‘first rack server’ with its compact size and scalability. Set up is made more straightforward thanks to a range of helpful features such as Windows and XProtect VMS optimisation and Husky Assistant. Also, over 14,000 devices from a variety of manufacturers are supported using the Milestone XProtect VMS.

Please note: XProtect software licenses are not included with this server. To install Milestone XProtect Express+, Professional+, Expert or Corporate onto this server, a base licence, camera licences (single licence required for each device added to the system) and the recommended Milestone Care Plus should be purchased separately. Finally, the unit comes pre-installed and licensed with Windows Server IoT 2022 for Storage Workgroup.
