This high-performance rack-mount server supports up to 50 Full HD (1080p) video channels at full frame rate and is purpose-built for use with any of Milestone’s XProtect VMS products, offering a reliable, scaleable solution for optimised video recording and management. The server features two hot-swappable hard drive bays that can store up to 32TB of raw local data and is ideal for businesses that require a high performing Milestone video management system with recording servers that can be scaled up over time. In addition, a 5-year NBD manufacturer warranty is included – ensuring investment protection.

Server Hardware

Optimised for use with Milestone XProtect software products, this server is equipped with an Intel Xeon E-2434 processor and includes 32GB of RAM and a recording throughput of up to 360Mbps. It can support the recording of up to 50 channels based on video streams of HD 1080p at 30 frames per second (fps), 5-8 Mbps per channel, or more cameras with lower frame rates or resolutions. Two pre-installed Dell Enterprise Grade 24/7 hard drives offer 8TB, 16TB, 24TB or 32TB of storage and software RAID1 equivalent (Windows Storage Spaces) is also available for increased resilience vs storage availability. In addition, the unit features 1 x DB-15 VGA port for installation use.

Recording and Video Management

Any of Milestone’s XProtect software products can run on this server for a comprehensive recording solution (purchase of a Milestone XProtect base and device licences are needed). XProtect is pre-installed, but unlicensed, ready for a license file to be added. Users can then access the system through a variety of interfaces including the XProtect Smart Client, Web Client or Milestone's Mobile App.

Installation

The server’s 1U rack-mount form factor allows it to be integrated into existing IT infrastructure but is also an ideal ‘first rack server’ with its compact size and scalability. Set up is made more straightforward thanks to a range of helpful features such as Windows and XProtect VMS optimisation and Husky Assistant. Also, over 14,000 devices from a variety of manufacturers are supported using the Milestone XProtect VMS.

Please note: XProtect software licenses are not included with this server. To install Milestone XProtect Express+, Professional+, Expert or Corporate onto this server, a base licence, camera licences (single licence required for each device added to the system) and the recommended Milestone Care Plus should be purchased separately. Finally, the unit comes pre-installed and licensed with Windows Server IoT 2022 for Storage Workgroup.
