Part of the advanced Bosch FLEXIDOME IP Starlight 8000i series, this outdoor-ready dome network camera captures detail-packed 4K Ultra HD resolution video at up to 30 frames per second (fps). Bosch Starlight technology produces full colour images in ambient light extremes and this high-quality model also features Bosch’s Intelligent Video Analytics for enhanced security monitoring – 24 hours a day. Other useful features include support for Power over Ethernet (PoE), remote monitoring via the Bosch Video Security mobile app and edge storage with dual SD cards.

Camera

Users can choose between two options of varifocal lenses (select model from above dropdown menu), which provide horizontal views of up to 117° and allow the desired viewing angle to be set at installation. True day/night recording also enables reliable monitoring round-the-clock and the unit’s built-in audio I/O ports allow two-way audio functionality with the connection of an external microphone and speaker.

Imaging

Using a range of advanced imaging technologies, the high-performance camera can capture clear video footage in challenging lighting conditions. Bosch’s Intelligent Dynamic Noise Reduction Technology (IDNR) analyses the scene and reduces noise levels accordingly to produce clearer low-light images. These low-noise images result in reduced bandwidth streams that still retain high image quality. Bosch’s Starlight technology combines this high-performance noise reduction with advanced sensor technology to increase light sensitivity and deliver full colour images in scenes with extremely low light levels (as low as 0.04 lux).

Video analytics

Bosch’s edge-based Intelligent Video Analytics (IVA) is i-LIDS approved and helps to provide reliable security surveillance with a comprehensive range of configurable alarms. A total of 16 rules are available and users are able to set a maximum of 8 rules to be run simultaneously. Detailed metadata is recorded at the point of capture which allows users to quickly and easily retrieve specific footage from hours of stored video. Specifically designed for use in the most demanding environments, IVA is able to differentiate between genuine security events and known false triggers – such as snow, rain, wind and reflections on water. This helps to reduce the number of costly false alarms by providing higher levels of accuracy. In addition, since this advanced technology is run on the edge, all processing can be done without putting any load on the network.

Video management

Data can be stored locally on dual SD cards (not included) and used as a backup if connection to the network fails. Remote access to live views and video playbacks is also possible through the free Bosch Video Security mobile application. More sophisticated video management is possible through integration with high-performance third-party VMS applications such as Milestone XProtect.

Installation

The high-quality camera is housed in an IP66 and IK10-rated casing for durable, reliable use in outdoor locations that are prone to tampering attempts. Full remote commissioning means that - using a PC or a mobile device with the Bosch Project Assistant app - users can pan, tilt, roll and zoom (PTRZ) to point the camera to the required field of view with a single click. This, combined with support for PoE, helps to simplify the installation process.
