Bosch’s FLEXIDOME 5100i delivers proactive and intuitive monitoring for a range of indoor areas. With a choice of 2MP resolution at up to 60 fps, or 5MP and 8MP resolution at 30 fps, it is simple to find a variant that suits most requirements. Designed with dynamic scene awareness at the forefront, the unit is preinstalled with Bosch Intelligent Video Analytics (IVA) Pro Buildings pack, providing application-specific deep-learning object detection in all manner of environments and light conditions. Able to accurately detect, classify and track objects of interest and send customisable notifications to operators. This advanced analytics suite uses deep learning to distinguish between objects and potential false triggers – making it highly reliable. In areas in which the camera is prone to excessive movement, such as onboard vehicles or around machinery, Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS) can be used to reduce motion blur and ensure smooth footage is captured despite any vibrations or jolts the camera may experience.

Camera

Each camera variant has a varifocal lens that offers either a viewing angle between 31° and 105° (2MP & 8MP) or 29° and 96° (5MP) allowing the desired view to be easily set at installation. Monitoring in low-light conditions is possible with Starlight technology, enabling full-colour video capture in lighting as low as 0.021 lux (2MP), 0.060 lux (5MP) or 0.046 lux (8MP). Even if the lighting levels are insufficient important details can still be identified. Moreover, built-in Security features such as a Secure Element, Trusted Platform Module, and three-level password protection block cyber-attacks and safeguard video data, so users can rest assured that their system is secure.

Imaging

This camera is equipped to capture video in a wide range of scenarios with different light conditions or traffic levels, with one click, users can adjust settings to suit particular environments with configurable scene modes. In strongly backlit situations, the unit can make use of High Dynamic Range technology (HDR) to compensate for bright lights and dark shadows, so that objects and individuals can be more easily identified.

Video analytics

The key to proactive monitoring is dynamic analytics, the IVA Pro Buildings pack, also enables metadata collection, allowing users to gather information on the number of people in a scene and behaviour such as loitering or line crossing. As well as being useful in a retail environment to keep track of footfall, it also aids in footage retrieval, as metadata can be used to filter video to find specific objects. This camera also supports external audio devices through the audio line in/out ports can enhance alarm signalling or allow audio detection analytics that can further enhance scene awareness.

Video management

In the event of network interruption, data can be stored directly to the onboard MicroSD card (not included) - serving as a data backup or allowing the camera to work as a standalone unit in smaller installations. Users can access the camera from the Bosch viewer application, offering remote access to live and recorded views and camera control for up to 16 devices (expandable with additional licences). More advanced video management software is also compatible with this unit and it can be added to a new or existing Milestone XProtect installation.

Installation

Designed for robust and simple installation, this indoor camera is housed in IP54 and IK10-rated casing, protecting it against water sprays, dust and impacts up to 20 joules – making it ideal for deployment in areas prone to a limited amount of debris or vandalism. To make integration more straightforward and cost-effective, the camera includes support for Power-over-Ethernet (PoE), allowing the power and network connection to be delivered through one cable – reducing the equipment and number of wires required.
