Overview of the Axis T8646
The Axis T8646 blade kit allows existing coax cabling to be kept when converting analogue systems into digital IP systems. It provides an effective solution for installations where cabling may be very long or inaccessible. In some locations re-cabling is often not possible – hospitals or prisons for example.
The kit consists of a 6-channel blade and 6 x Axis T8642 PoE+ over coax device units. The blade fits any Axis encoder chassis and can be used simultaneously with other encoder blades, providing a flexible solution that allows the customer to migrate to IP at any pace. Device units are used on the camera side of cabling and receive power over the coax using either the Axis T8085 (500 W) or Axis T8082 rack-mounted (1 kW + 1 kW redundant) power supplies.
