Overview of the Axis Q8721-E

The Axis Q8721-E combines a HD 720p camera with a thermal imaging camera into one unit for high-level perimeter security, featuring high-speed pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) functionality with continuous endless rotation.

Designed for security operations at the highest level, the Axis Q8721-E is suited for use in environments such as prisons, military bases, airports, nuclear plants and other critical infrastructure facilities. Featuring dual streaming, the unit can provide high resolution HD 720p CCTV footage in combination with a thermal stream, whereby the thermal feed is used for accurate, long range detection of intruders or vehicles whilst the high resolution video stream with 10x optical zoom is used for the visual monitoring of the area in which the intruder detection took place. The thermal camera's reliable detection functionality is at work day and night (and in complete darkness) as it uses 'heat' as opposed to 'light' to monitor its environment. The Axis Q8721-E PTZ unit is suitable for outdoor use and can withstand temperatures between -30°C to 45°C, making it suitable for use in most climates.

The thermal camera's maximum detection range is 1200 metres using a 60mm lens, whilst using the 35mm lens option would provide a shorter range but wider area coverage (please select required lens from above drop down menu).

Other features such as built-in video motion detection, privacy masking and Axis' Gatekeeper technology, which can guard a °ªgate°å and its surroundings, zooming in when an object appears and zooming out after it has gone, make this advanced network camera suited for high-end surveillance .
