Overview of the Axis Q6124-E

The outdoor-ready Axis Q6124-E PTZ dome IP camera delivers high quality, smooth HD 720p video at up to 50fps. This advanced unit is part of Axis’ Q61 Sharpdome series and features full pan/tilt/zoom functionality, along with 30x optical zoom for detailed investigation of specific areas. Housed in IK08 and IP66-rated casing for robust protection in exposed areas, this camera also features Lightfinder, Zipstream technology, edge storage and support for Power-over-Ethernet (PoE+).

Endless 360° variable panning at up to 700°/s allows for quick and precise navigation across wide outdoor areas – handy for close monitoring of fast-moving objects or persons of interest. In addition, this camera features Axis’ innovative Sharpdome technology which enables it to view as much as 20° above the horizon.

WDR – Dynamic Capture technology is supported, enabling details in scenes with both bright and dark areas to be viewed clearly and Axis’ Lightfinder imaging technology captures full colour images even in low light. Also, a useful Speed Dry function is included which vibrates the dome at high speeds to remove any lingering water droplets – ensuring clear image capture in rainy conditions or after being subjected to high-pressure cleaning.

Various video motion detection methods can be configured to enhance dynamic scene awareness and deliver reliable security monitoring. When used in conjunction with Active Gatekeeper, these alarms can be used to trigger certain tasks such as starting a guard tour or moving directly to a pre-set location to ensure all activity is captured. Additionally, shock detection alerts the user in real-time if any attempts of vandalism are made.

Zipstream technology helps to lower bandwidth and storage levels by an average of up to 50%. It optimises the video stream in real-time, allowing important details to be retained while unnecessary data is removed. High Power-over-Ethernet (PoE+) support simplifies the installation process by delivering both power and network connectivity over a single cable, and an integrated SD card provides edge storage and allows the camera to be used as a standalone unit.
